Family Separation Crisis

The Trump administration’s sordid “zero tolerance” policy for migrants seeking asylum in the U.S. entailed targeting asylum seekers who were parents and separating them from their children at the border, which quickly spiraled into a humanitarian crisis. The HHS’s Administration for Children and Families (ACF), specifically the Office of Refugee Resettlement (ORR), along with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), was charged with facilitating the policy. Children remain separated from their parents and in the care of HHS. The Biden-Harris administration must do everything in its power to reverse these catastrophic policies and reunite families.
