Food and Drug Administration

An operating division of HHS, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has a number of offices, including that of the Commissioner—which oversees women’s and minority health initiatives—and those addressing medical products, tobacco, food and more. The FDA is responsible for research involving fetal tissue, which has made possible groundbreaking advances in fighting COVID-19, the zika virus and measles among other diseases.
