As Director Of It’s On Us, Avery Has Been A Vocal Advocate For Stopping Sexual Assault On College Campuses

Avery Has Been A Vocal Advocate For Stopping Sexual Assault On College Campuses Through Her Leadership Of The It’s On Us Campaign. “It’s On Us is a campaign. We started in September 2014 and we’re really focused on trying to change the culture around sexual assault on college campuses … It was really sort of born out of the White House Task Force on sexual assault that was formed in January 2014. There were a couple of findings after that task force took place and one of them was really the need to change our culture and another one was to get more people really involved in the conversation, to have guys really stepping up on their campuses and taking part and just having more people come to get together to really help find a solution to this problem.” [Volta Insider YouTube, 7/8/16]
