Missouri Abortion Clinic Can Stay Open

New York, NY – Just now, The Missouri Administrative Hearing Commission issued an order allowing Missouri’s only abortion clinic to remain operational until at least August. This decision prevents Missouri from becoming the first state in the country without a health center providing legal abortion care since before Roe v. Wade.

“While we’re thankful that women and families in Missouri will have access to critical health services for the foreseeable future, Missourians deserve transparency around the state’s ongoing administrative campaign to eliminate their access to care,” said Michelle Kuppersmith, director of Equity Forward.

In response to the state’s continued targeting of the clinic, Equity Forward filed Sunshine Law requests for all materials and correspondence related to the state’s campaign against the clinic from the offices of Missouri’s governorattorney general and Department of Health and Senior Services

Equity Forward also released a report on Team PLAY, a fringe group working to take away women’s rights in Missouri, and sent records requests to the offices of the state’s professional registration division and attorney general regarding communications with Team PLAY and people affiliated with it.
