Private Contractors

Private-sector contractors are entities that are paid to conduct tasks on behalf of the U.S. government. These entities have a role in providing facilities to hold people in government custody, are charged with providing oversight and management of facilities, provide the employment force working within the facilities, provide the healthcare workers charged with providing medical care for those under government custody and facilitate the placement and custody of minors navigating the immigration system. As government subcontractors are paid by public dollars, private entities should be held to the highest standards and should not be free to act in ways that are harmful to those receiving their provided service. These entities should also be subject to stringent oversight and reporting requirements that are transparent and accessible to the public. Notable private contractors include:

  • LaSalle Corrections
  • HHS ORR Funded Care Providers
  • The Nakamoto Group
  • Core Civic
  • Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service
  • United States Conference of Catholic Bishops
  • Loyal Source Government Services LLC
